about
Performed at the 'Ecoacoustics Congress' held at the Brisbane Botanic Gardens.
This work was influenced by the research of Monica Gagliano, which delves into the sounds plants transmit and perceive. In 2017, I was lucky enough to attend one of her talks and left the discussion with a new found curiosity.... If plants seemed to enjoy certain frequencies, could I and others perform music to attend to another kind of audience—and ultimately another kind of listening?
The frequencies used mainly ranged from around 200hz to 400hz, although at times some of the Tibetan singing bowls hit higher harmonics.
